Branding for a Restaurant named Siren.

For this class project my two classmates and I were tasked with creating a restaurant and hotel. I was paired with an interior designer (Avery Powell) and a graphic designer(Lael Ebarb). We started with our restaurant first and decided to make it Greek. We were posed with the question “What if?” So what if our restaurant was a cave? We came upon the name because in Greece, Sirens would lure sailors into caves and we want to lure the customers! We personalized the typeface to have a mermaid tail, while still giving it an elegant feel for this fancy restaurant. I also created a fancy bottle of Ouzu which a very popular liquor in Greece. We created a menu, signage with the logo, to go boxes, and server attire.

For our hotel we had another what if. Ours was, “What if a hotel was a poppy?” Poppy’s are very popular in Greece and are known to induce a deep sleep. That is how we came upon the name Hypnos. Our logo has an Art Nuevo feel while also including poppy flowers to tie it all in. We created door signs, welcome cards, key cards, wall patterns, toiletry bottles, a Hypnos sign, and a cocktail menu.
